Dutch Portrait Price 2019
A long time ago I met Gerrit in a lunch cafe. I asked him if he ever wanted to pose for me, because I found his portrait and hands really inspiring. He was really happy to oblige. I made some sketches of him to make a definite painting later on. But I was sad to hear he passed away before I could paint him.
Some time later his daughter contacted me for a portrait of her father. I was honored and happy to finaly paint Gerrit from the few sketches and photo's I made.
Inspired by his full life I painted him in different stages of his life including his wife and daughter.
